Summary:

Synthetic lysine is widely used in the diets for productive animals and poultry. However, high levels of traditional preparation of the synthetic lysine in the form of monochloride lead to the excessive dietary chlorine levels causing diet imbalances and adversely affecting productivity in poultry. The study of the comparative effectiveness of lysine monochloride vs. dried or liquid forms of lysine sulphate in diets for broilers is presented. The trial was performed in the Institute's Vivarium on three groups of Cobb-500 broilers (35 ‘as-hatch' birds with similar live bodyweight at 1 day of age per group) housed in cage batteries “Big Dutchman” (Germany) provided with feeding and drinking systems. The substitution of dried lysine sulphate 75% (group 2) or liquide lysine sulphate concentrate (group 3) for lysine monochloride (control treatment 1) in diets for broilers improved live bodyweight at 35 days of age by 3.46 and 3.53% for groups 2 and 3 in compare to control, feed conversion ratio by 1.85 and 2.23%. Mortality levels in all groups were low. Lysine sulphate did not compromise meat yields and quality in broilers. Both dried and liquid forms of lysine sulphate were equally available for broilers. Modern technology of the domestic production of lysine sulphate guarantees high and stable lysine yields. Lysine sylphate in dried or liquid concentrated form can effectively substitute traditional lysine monochloride in diets for broilers.
